Smith Mechanical Field Services is the industrial consulting company I built. The company works printing presses and production lines. This page is how I got here.
I started as a machinist, learning lathes and mills and how to hold a tolerance. That turned into certified welding, then years in commercial automation and factory work: printing presses, new machine installs, leveling, and the troubleshooting that comes after. I've worked in noodle plants, on candy automation lines, and in dog food processing, and my experience includes harbor and dock work.
Away from the plant I raced superbikes and drove touring cars. Racing teaches you that tenths matter, that setup is everything, and how to stay calm when something breaks at speed. Those lessons apply on a production floor too.
I love the road and the outdoors, so traveling to your plant is part of what I enjoy about the work. Wherever your line is, I'll load the truck and come to you.
Certified welder. Exact certification codes are not listed until they are confirmed. Years on the floor are not stated as a number, because that number was not provided.
